Very happy with the wonderful food and service we had today, September 2025.
We had a not so good experience 4 years ago, and although we come to Naxos every year, we refused to return.
I am glad we went to check it out today.
The BEST cheese croquettes EVER! Everything we ordered was excellent. Very attentive staff.
Washrooms modern and super clean.
Very honest prices. No questions about “do you want to add a tip?” That has been common in almost all restaurants in Naxos.
They accept ALL credit cards, including American Express that is refused by most restaurants and shops.
CONGRATULATIONS for the amazing service! You are now on top of my list when dinning out in this beautiful island.
I kept my review from 4 years ago, so people can see that a place can improve tremendously!
This was my review from 2021, at that time I gave 2 stars. Happy to say that now they deserve FIVE STARS
I feel sorry to give two stars because the location is amazing and my octopus was fresh and delicious.
Problems were: I asked if the rosé wine was cold and the lady who was serving us said “yes”. So we ordered one bottle. Wine came as hot as tea or coffee and firstly they tried to convince us that it would get cold inside the bucket. No, it wouldn’t, as it was probably being stored under the sun. We returned it and asked for a beer that came cold.
I asked for fried eggplants that came in a huge portion and looked beautiful and fresh. Problem is that they were “swimming” in grease.
Octopus as I said was fresh and delicious. Came with potato salad that was good. I would have preferred French fries but no one asked if I would prefer potato salad or French fries, and, as almost all the restaurants serve the octopus with fries I thought I didn’t need to ask.
Zucchini balls were ok, although could have been crispier.
We didn’t ask for bread, didn’t eat but paid for it. No problem, not a big deal.
Although the place was almost empty, with very few tables occupied, service was SUPER confused. The waitress brought something to our table that...

When we were seated we were given menus and 2 minutes later a server just stood beside us until we turned around, no greeting or even eye contact, just asked if we want to order, when we said sorry we're not ready she just turned and walked off. When we did order our food took 25 minutes to come, which would be fine as it was a busy place, however the server carrying the food walked around us several times with the tray with no idea where she was going, when i politely got her attention and said I think it's ours, she just said "it's not yours" and wandered off. Watched her walk around for a couple more minutes until she came back to us with the same tray, and argued with two different waiters beside our table, where we had to tell her everything we ordered (plus the one thing they had forgotten) and gave us our wine and drinks with no glasses. The food was cold. I got the impression, coming from a career in the catering business, not a single server was trained, no one had a section or knew what was happening around them at any point, it was utter chaos. Far far too many tables for a crew like that (there were about 8 - 10 servers, just none who knew what they were doing) Every table around us seemed to suffer similarly, waiting 10 plus minutes for menus, having menus thrown on to their tables as the server walked past. Not a single table looked like they were being served properly. The food (cold) was at best mediocre, and I'm an easy eater to please.
Genuinely the worst service I have ever seen in any country...

Dining at Paradiso Taverna in Naxos is exactly what it sounds like – paradise! We stumbled upon this little slice of heaven, where your table isn’t just near the beach, it’s on the beach! Picture this: your chair and table are literally on the sand, with the waves just a few steps away. I’ve never been so excited to sit down for a meal… until my chair started sinking into the sand, that is. By the time I finished my delicious dinner, I was practically sitting in a sandcastle! This however is no negative….
But honestly, who cares about a sinking chair when you’ve got the most breathtaking sunset right in front of you? The food at Paradiso Taverna was absolutely divine – every bite was like a love letter to my taste buds. I think my chair wasn’t the only thing that gained some weight during this meal, if you know what I mean!
The staff were friendly and doing their best, even though they were juggling orders and maybe a few too many demands from some overly entitled guests. I mean, come on people, you’re dining on a beach in Greece, not auditioning for a reality show about demanding customers! For us, the service was just right – the staff let us enjoy our meal and soak in the incredible surroundings without feeling rushed or neglected.
All in all, Paradiso Taverna lives up to its name. The beachside setting is unbeatable, the food is top-notch, and the sinking chair? Well, let’s just call that part of the charm. If you’re in Naxos, do yourself a favor and dine here – just be prepared for the sand to give you a little extra love...
